Fasting and Listening to Jesus

Whoever listens to you listens to me.
Whoever rejects you rejects me.
And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16

As most of us have experienced, it’s not easy to listen to and follow Jesus, especially with our secular world promoting the opposite. If we think about the Middle Eastern Christians, many have already lost their lives because they refused to reject Jesus. What would we do if someone asked us to reject our faith?

Jesus wants us to fast. Otherwise, He would not have said “When you fast.”

Jesus showed by His example that fasting is powerful. “Some demons can only be expelled through prayer and fasting.”

Fasting is that powerful. Fasting helps to change lives and hearts. Live the Fast emails and testimonials affirm the fact that seemingly impossible situations were resolved through fasting. And one need only take a look at our fasting miracles page to read about many miracles that have happened through fasting.

Let us listen to Jesus and continue to fast on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Today let us pray and fast for all the community intentions, for persecuted Christians all over the world and for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

Holy Mary, pray for us! Holy Spirit, teach us to pray!
