How much water should I drink on a Fast Day?

The Institute of Medicine determined that an adequate intake for men is roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day. The adequate intake for women is 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day. We encourage you to stay hydrated throughout a fasting day and you’ll find that water purifies your body of toxins, which is why you might experience bad breath and possibly darker than normal urine.
