I feel very fortunate to have found this group. I have wanted to start fasting for a long time but never quite knew how to get started. This group enabled me to do so. Thank you for giving me the tools to grow in my faith through fasting!
Knowing I am not alone in my fasting but one of a community striving to be obedient to God’s call is a HUGE blessing! It is so encouraging and has really strengthened my commitment to fast and pray NOW. Your organization is a wonderful testament to God’s love & power. Thank you again.
I had to write because you inspire me, encourage me, and lift me up with your prayers and fasting. Last Tuesday evening I had just about talked myself out of fasting for Wednesday. However, before I went to bed I checked my email and saw the “Reminder for a Joyful Fasting Day” in my inbox. As I read through the prayer requests and the prayers answered, the thoughts running through my mind were that if so many people are going through surgery, chemotherapy, relationship breakdowns, and more, the least I could do for them was to pray AND FAST. I then had the realization that prayer and fasting for the community was a gift to God, and by praying and fasting for God, I was giving a gift to the community. Wednesday came with a new resolve and I had a successful day fasting.
I fasted for the first time yesterday on your breads. It was great! It is the most successful fast that I have had in years. I have been telling other priests and laity about you and fasting. I felt such peace and strength and joy about the future.
As a physician, I am aware that having the breads, every 2-3 hours during the fasting period will certainly provide the calories I need. I am not at all anxious that it might impact my health adversely. Although initially, I felt that I would be very hungry..I was able to handle the day prayerfully and peacefully.
